Dundas Castle launches Burns Supper package

Luxury venue, Dundas Castle, is offering an authentic Burns Supper experience for those looking to celebrate the iconic poet in a truly Scottish setting.

Along with exclusive use of the Castle and its immediate grounds and with dining locations for up to 200 guests, the five star venue’s new package offers guests a Scottish themed drinks reception followed by a four course Scottish menu with wine.

Peacefully secluded in its own 400-acre countryside Estate, the Castle features turrets, impressive staircases, sumptuous bedrooms and roaring fires.  The historic gem, owned by Sir Jack Stewart Clark and his wife Lady Lydia, boasts 17 beautiful bedrooms that can accommodate 37 adults.  Dundas Castle is the ideal location for an atmospheric Scottish celebration.

Guests seeking a truly historical Burns Supper style dining experience can enjoy their meal in any of the Castle’s beautiful dining locations.  Whether it’s the atmospheric Stag Chamber in the 600 year old Auld Keep, the stylish 18th century Croquet Room or the 200 seater Pavilion, each one is packed full of character and will be dressed for the occasion with tartan table styling by the expert events team.

The Burns Supper includes an entrée of Smoked Salmon followed by the famous ‘Haggis, Neeps and Tatties’ served with a complimentary dram on the side. A third course of Highland Venison Loin, followed by a dessert of Raspberry Cranachan rounds off the traditional menu, after which diners will be served freshly brewed tea or coffee and handmade Scottish tablet.  The package includes a gin or whisky cocktail, half a bottle of wine per person and a dram of whisky.  For those who wish it, the full Burns experience is available including a piper, speeches such as An Address to the Haggis and dancing.

Sir Jack Stewart-Clark, owner of Dundas Castle, said: “Dundas Castle offers a truly historical backdrop for the celebration of Robert Burns on Burns Night, an honoured Scottish tradition. Dating back to 1416, the Castle is the ideal setting for those hoping to enjoy a slice of genuine Scottish heritage and culture.

“We’re very proud to offer this new package, which includes everything guests need for an authentic Burns Supper experience.”

Prices for the new Burns Supper package start at £90 per person including VAT, for a minimum of 10 guests and maximum of 200, available from Friday 4th January to Thursday 31st January 2019.

The standard exclusive-use facility fee is applicable, and guests can opt to include many of the additional services offered by the Castle and Estate.  For more details visit:  www.dundascastle.co.uk
