Fringe brings America to Scotland in new Broadway-style musical

The 2018 Edinburgh Fringe will welcome a stunning new musical bringing America to Scotland:  Highland Serenade.

Written by US television producer, Peggy Lark, this is a heart-on-the-sleeve production using re-found music from the 1950s and 60s.

Highland Serenade is the tale of a US naval officer, who relocates to the Highlands of Scotland with his family and finds out the true nature of ownership.  Packed full of laughter, high-kicks and tears, the show includes Gershwin-style music created by the author’s mother, which is now being re-discovered.

Revelations along the way include an attempt at America’s Got Talent, the truth about family relationships and foot-tapping Broadway-style numbers.  Original throughout and guaranteed to ring true for Scots and Americans alike, Highland Serenade will take the Fringe by surprise and audiences will leave the theatre with a song in their hearts.

Highland Serenade will run from August 13-26, (dark on Aug. 19), at 16.55, one hour, at the Paradise Green (Venue 152) Augustine Church, 41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, ENH 1EL
