Planning and property
We routinely manage stakeholder communication and community consultation on complex and sometimes controversial planning applications for property developments.
In November 2010, we won the CIPR Scotland Gold award for a successful campaign to secure planning consent for a distillery near the Antonine Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Falkirk. In the face of opposition from Historic Scotland and the council, we promoted the idea of an Antonine Wall visitor interpretation centre as part of the distillery plans. We then secured the backing of local MSPs and a range of other third party commentators and highlighted the local economic benefits.
Similar campaigns have been pursued successfully for a wide range of housing, mixed use and commercial developments. Our work with QMD Consortium is a good illustration of this.
We have our own model for community engagement which is designed specifically to meet Scottish National Standards as outlined in the Government’s Planning Advice Note 3 / 2010 on Community Engagement.
We are committed to high standards of consultation which stand up to scrutiny including the preparation of robust and comprehensive PAC reports.Three of our employees are members of The Consultation Institute.
