Highland win for Pagoda…

Pagoda PR won the tender to act as official communication advisor to the Highland Council on their community ownership programme. This is the 7th housing transfer project Pagoda has managed in Scotland.

The Council believes that housing transfer is the best long-term option to ensure increased investment in the existing council housing stock and in new affordable homes. Existing tenants rights would be protected, including Right to Buy.

If tenants vote in favour in a Ballot planned for October 2006, and the housing stock is transferred, the existing housing debt of ?167 million would be written off . Highland Housing Partnership, the new landlord, would be able to spend much more in every ?1 of tenants’ rents on services and housing improvements.
