Pagoda was taken on by the London 2012 to build support for the Olympic Bid in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North East of England. This has involved promoting the range of ways in which other parts of the UK will benefit from the bid – both economically and in the way the Olympics can be used to get more people involved in sport.
In each area Pagoda has been carrying out a series of briefing meetings to build support for the bid followed by a visit from The Chair of The Bid Barbara Cassani or the Vice Chair Sebastian Coe. The visits have included photo opportunities, speeches at conferences, informal meetings and one to one sessions with key politicians. We use the visits to build understanding of the benefits of the bid amongst sports people, business leaders, politicians and the general public – and to generate positive media coverage for the bid.
