Dundas Castle offers luxury autumn glamping

With forecasters suggesting that Scotland may be set for an Indian summer, luxury Edinburgh venue, Dundas Castle and its partner Glampotel are offering the ultimate autumn experience.

Until 20th October, guests can stay one of the cosy glamping units, nestled amongst woodland, overlooking the castle’s loch. Surrounded by trees, the canvas cottages are the ideal spot to relax and appreciate the natural beauty of the season – breathing in the fresh woodland air, watching the ducks, swans and herons on the loch and enjoying the great glow of reds and rich bronze leaves.

With environmentally friendly facilities, including dog friendly options, glamping at Dundas Castle offers a luxury outdoor living mini-experience. With a focus on comfort, glamping is great for those seeking a cosy retreat in the early autumn months.

Each en-suite canvas cottage is in its own secluded area with a private deck, boasting breathtaking views of the golden leaves across the loch; the perfect retreat for romantic evenings after a day exploring the city. During autumn stays, the wood burning stove is of particular value for cosy evenings next to the fire.

The estate grounds offer 400 acres of beautiful woodland and parkland, which is ideal for family walks and the opportunity for wildlife spotting. And, in the most photogenic season of the year, visitors can take advantage of the unique photography opportunities through the private estate, from misty mornings to the rich oranges and reds in the trees.

Owner, Sir Jack Stewart Clark, said: “After a long, dry summer, the autumn colours are intensified, so this year is sure to be spectacular. Glamping at Dundas Castle is a very special part of the estate and is incredibly popular with visitors. This will be the last opportunity to enjoy glamping at Dundas Castle before the end of the season, and so we look forward to welcoming visitors for a truly memorable stay.”

Conveniently located, Dundas Castle is just 15 minutes from Edinburgh International Airport; 20 minutes from the city by car, and a five-minute taxi ride from Dalmeny train station.

Each canvas cottage contains a comfy king size bed, complete with crisp cotton bedding, soft pillows, and a cosy duvet.  Also included is a fully equipped kitchen cupboard, en-suite shower room with hot shower, environmentally friendly toiletries and eco toilets, barbecue, USB ports for charging devices, towels, cool box, lighting, patio heater, comfy seating and a lockable safe box. Prices start at £159 per night in a delightful canvas cottage, and until the end of 2018, under 16s can stay for free.
