London 2012
Integrated Campaign
Winner CIPR Silver Award for Best Public Affairs Campaign in 2005
Brief
To build public support in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and NE of England for London's bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games. We coordinated a broad programme of media relations and public affairs activity over two years including:
- opinion leader briefings, meetings with sports bodies, journalists, business leaders and politicians including Scotland’s First Minister
- high profile visits from Sebastian Coe, Barbara Cassani and Steve Cram
- large-scale media events including regional launches and events
Results
- Public opinion improved 27% during the course of the programme – a key indicator as the IOC tracked this.
- We secured a total of 84 items of coverage including five TV items, 16 radio pieces, 35 Scotland/UK wide press pieces, 24 regional media pieces and 4 pieces of on-line coverage
'Most importantly we have been able to rely on Pagoda getting things done - and ensure that the right messages are communicated to the right people at the right time.'
